Brooke & Michael

The wedding ceremony at Harvest Ministries in Rock Hill, SC uniting Brooke Sanders and Michael Richey was a fitting celebration of family, friends and their commitment to each other. Brooke, an employee of BofA, wore her mother’s wedding dress from 1979. With a few alterations she made it her own. In this trailer you get a quick peak of Brooke’s “ruby red slippers.” Her mother always called Brooke ‘her Dorothy’ because of Brooke’s love of traveling. After living in California for a few years, she returned home to the Carolinas in pigtails, a Dorothy dress and ruby red slippers. Her little dog, Chancy was supposed to be in the wedding but at the last minute he had to stay home as ring bearer. Notice the candelabra on the piano with five lit candles memorializing deceased grandparents and aunts of the bride and groom.

The reception was close to home for us at the Rock Hill City Club. This was actually the first time Ashley and I returned to the City Club since our own rehearsal dinner last summer. It was great to be back and the venue never looked better. I especially enjoyed the bouquet toss from the fire escape in the adjacent outdoor courtyard of Periwinkle Bakery. The photographers were Wendy and Dave from Fort Mill Photography. They were obvious pros and got all the good shots! We love shooting weddings in our hometown. We especially like Historic Old Town. We met Brooke at the Winthrop University McBryde Hall Bridal Show which was showcased in the Rock Hill Herald and sponsored by Michael Draper of Gregory’s Formal Wear.
