Mary & Joseph

Mary’s parents always said that if they had a boy, that they would have named him “Robert Joseph.” Well they had to wait a while, but they got their Robert Joseph! Robert, or as he prefers to be called, Joe is a red-haired, Clemson-loving Carolina guy. On July 2nd he married Mary, an American with a strong Iraqi heritage. Much of her family flew in from Dearborn, MI for the full Catholic mass. The ceremony was conducted at St Mary’s outside Greenville. Mary and Joe first met eleven years ago when they were working at Best Buy. Years later things just clicked and their whirlwind romance bloomed. The rehearsal dinner was at the Westin-Poinsett Hotel in downtown Greenville. We had to privilege of taking part and filming the rehearsal which was good because we had the opportunity to meet all of the extended family members. There were many speeches given, almost like a roast of the couple. At the rehearsal they gave gifts to their wedding party and danced into the evening. They are receiving three DVDs as part of their package. One for their extensive rehearsal dinner, one for their ceremony and one for their reception. Of course tied throughout are our traditional photo montages and pre-ceremony wedding day candid interviews. The reception took place at the Hilton off 395 in Greenville. It was a wild night getting down to LMFAO, Black Eyed Peas and other Top 40, but that was mixed with 45 minute sets from an Arabic-singing wedding band flown in from Dearborn. The band was quite good and consisted of a drum machine, two synths and a vocalist. The synthesizers somewhat replicated the sounds of traditional Iraqi instruments. The family kicked, held hands and danced in a circle for hours. The dance floor was packed for most of the night. Mary & Joe did not even have an exit from the hotel. They planned to dance through the night. It was an exciting wedding we will not forget. Their photography was completed by the husband and wife team of Raycroft Art.
