This is one of my favorite trailers from the fall of 2013. It is what one might call a “rustic-authentic” styled or themed wedding. The bride had a perfect crown of flowers and a bohemian crocheted dress. The groom had a Mumford & Sons beard, boots, vest and bow tie. They were wed at the family farm where the bride grew up.
The trailer ends with a sky lantern launch montage. Kongming lanterns are miniature, paper hot air balloons that float off into the sky with burning tinder dishes keeping them aloft. We usually like sparklers, but this is so cool. The piece is set to songs by The Avett Brothers and The Alabama Shakes.
We enjoyed shooting alongside Sassyfrass Studios. That sister team really does create photographic folk tales.
