Cody and Cat met in high school and reconnected while Catherine was working for Senator Dole in DC. Later they met up again in Germany where Catherine claims she “fell in love.” From that point Catherine went on to work campaigns for Bob McDonnell in Virginia and later a gubernatorial candidate in Michigan. A long courtship ensued and on May 28th, 2011 Cat and Cody were married at 1st ARP Church in Statesville, NC. Catherine is a member of New Perth ARP, but Statesville was more suited to accommodate all of the guests invited from far and wide. The reception was at the Fox Den Country Club which is actually on the location of the original Edmiston Dairy Farm. (The Edmistons are Catherine’s mom’s side of the family). The wedding could not have been better. Catherine’s uncle played organ with aplomb and her brother fashioned the most delicious wedding cake I have ever sampled. The reception at the Fox Den Country Club was lively with a bluegrass/fusion band named “The Bent Strings” that played originals and covers. A warm summer evening of dancing and sweet tea kept the crowd energized throughout! It was a privilege to do Cat’s wedding. She has long been a friend of ours from way back when we attended Erskine College. It’s good to film an ARP/Erskine wedding! Davey Morgan Photography was of course a part of the big day. Helen Joy George is also a talented photographer and she donated Catherine’s bridals as a wedding gift as she was the maid-of-honor. You can see Davey’s photos from the day here. See Catherine’s reviews from her wedding day vendors here.
