Kate and David were wed on July 21st at Myers Park Methodist. Kate and her family are members at the church. The tall stone sanctuary and stained glass matched the elegance of the entire affair. Touchingly, July 21st was the 10 year anniversary from when Kate and David began dating in high school. Through college and beyond, they stayed together. It clearly meant so much to them to officially tie the knot on their anniversary of dating. Their reception was at grand Ballantyne Resort and Lodge. Recently I made an Obama-Biden spoof for a luxury real estate company, Peters and Associates Inc. We pretended that the POTUS was staying at a big mansion in Waxhaw for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. Well, in reality the president stayed at the Ballantyne Resort, where this reception was held. The location is on a many acre swath of land, making it easier to fortify by the secret service. On the day of this wedding the golf course and spa also served as locations throughout the day. We enjoyed working with Kristin Byrum Photography. Kristin and her husband Aaron definitely kept things interesting. They could always elicit natural smiles and laughter from the bride, groom and wedding party. As always Split Second Sound did an excellent job. Michael Finch served as MC and kept the party going during the reception at the Lodge. They exited to sparklers. All around this was an extremely telegenic wedding from the locations to the bridal party. Everyone acted naturally on camera. It was a pleasure to edit.
